Hi Friends! Can you believe it's Monday already? A little crazy, right? Well we thought we should start this week off on a fresh note, and with a fresh new phone number! For the past two years I've relied on a "voicemail only" system. Although it did the job, it was anything but ideal. But now, we have a real live Dahlia Press phone line (one where a real person answers)! So get out your iPhones, electronic contact lists, or your paper planner and jot this down! We'd love for you to call (or text)! 206-552-9447. xoxo - Steph

Sorry. It's been a little quite around these parts lately. I promise, a lot will be revealed soon (new photos, new plans, new site, etc), but right now, I'm in a massive game of catch-up and so you'll just have to be patient a little bit longer. I'm still thinkin' about you though...just so you know. xoxo - Steph

We're back with another installment of Wed-iquette! Not all that long ago we talked about how to budget gifts when attending multiple wedding functions. But there are some very big costs associated with attending a wedding that we didn't cover. According to a recent survey by American Express of 1,518 adults, they found that Americans plan to spend 59% more on attending a wedding then they did last year. That equates to a dollar figure of $539 per wedding! Why the big cost? Well when you add up the gifts, the plane ticket, the hotel room, and of course that new outfit and matching shoes...getting to a number like $539 isn't all that difficult. As a positive note, I suppose we should take this as a sign that the economy has picked up. But as wedding season quickly approaches, remember to be kind to your wallets. Perhaps that new dress will work for more then just one occasion?

A couple weeks ago, while perusing Skillshare (we'll chat more about that in a bit) I stumbled across an Illustration and Lettering course taught by Jon Contino. I've been a fan of Jon's work ever since I posted this piece of his almost exactly a year ago. So when I saw that he was teaching an online course, I had to sign up. The class starts next week and I couldn't be more excited. If you're lucky, I'll share my finished piece here on the blog.
Now, as far as Skillshare - if you haven't checked into it before now, don't wait any longer. It's a website jam packed with project based online courses that focuses on "real world skills for real people". The classes are taught by working professionals and are incredibly reasonable in price. What a great way to get some creative juices flowing! xoxo - Steph
P.S: I'm sorry for the lame pause in blog posts this past week. Lot's of good stuff is going on, but sadly that doesn't leave a ton of time for blogging. I promise to get back on track this week!
